  1. INSTALLATION
  2. -------------
  3. There are two ways to install eMedia Guitar Method:
  4.  
  5. The first way, which gives better performance, is to run the eMedia Guitar Method application directly off of your hard drive (video and audio are played from the CD-ROM):
  6. 1. Double-click on "eMedia Guitar Method Installer."
  7. 2. Use "Easy Install."
  8. 3. Select the drive to which you wish to install "eMedia Guitar Method."
  9. 4. Click on "Install." (You will have to restart after installation.)
  10. 5. Double-click on your newly installed "eMedia Guitar Method" (found on your hard drive).

  12. The second way, which conserves disk space, is to run the eMedia Guitar Method application directly off of the CD-ROM:
  13. 1. Double-click on "eMedia Guitar Method Installer."
  14. 2. Use "Custom Install" and select "Necessary System Extensions."
  15. 3. Click on "Install." (You will have to restart after installation.)
  16. 4. Double-click on "eMedia Guitar Method" (found on your CD-ROM).

  19. FOR OPTIMUM PERFORMANCE
  20. -------------------------
  21. 1. Quit all other applications before running "eMedia Guitar Method."
  22. 2. Make sure Virtual Memory is turned off (in the Memory control panel).

  25. TROUBLESHOOTING
  26. -----------------
  27. If you don't have enough memory to start "eMedia Guitar Method", try using a minimal extension set as follows:
  28. 1. Open the Extensions Manager control panel (from the Apple menu).
  29. 2. Turn off all extensions except Apple CD-ROM, QuickTime, QuickTime Musical Instruments, QuickTime Power Plug and Sound Manager.
  30. 3. Restart your computer and run "eMedia Guitar Method."

  32. Likewise, if you're having trouble with the video and/or audio, even though you've installed QuickTime, you may have an extension conflict, so try the minimum extension set as per the above three steps.

  34. If running the Metronome or Tuner results in a missing file message and keeps asking you to "Please insert eMedia CD and try again" even though the eMedia CD is in the drive:
  35. 1. Turn off all virus protection software and try reinstalling.
  36. 2. Check your System folder, and if there is no folder called "Preferences" create one inside the System folder, then reinstall.

  38. If you get a "Supercard out of memory" error:
  39. 1. Click "Cancel" and continue using "eMedia Guitar Method."

  41. If scroll bars disappear:
  42. 1. Turn off the Aaron system extension.
  43.  
  44. For other problems:
  45. 1. Check the extensive on-line help provided in the "eMedia Guitar Method" by choosing 
  46.     "Help" under the Apple menu.
